knowledge worker and work is where the money is. America is converting the world into its factory. Outsourcing is the new colonialism. Outsourcing muscle work and call centers. It is the work which is not worth doing for anyone in the developed world.
Think about it. Oracle has a vast majority of indian workers. Yet it is an american company. Nike manufactures its footballs in Pakistan. However, Nike is an american company. What this means is that the money and power is not in manufacturing. Its in the services. In knowledge work. In design of products, and distibutions and manufacturing systems, in the development of markets and marketign campaigns.
In Pakistan, we should be positioning ourselves for knowledge work.
